- Two conferences in Rome about co-production in Italy and the circulation of films in the EU

“Other People’s Taste” is the title of an international conference about the circulation of European films within the EU. It is scheduled to take place in the Rome HQ of Agis, the Italian entertainment industry association, on 5 December. On 6 December at Agis, a second conference entitled “Co-producing in Italy” will be held. “Other People’s Taste” was organised by API, Italy’s independent producers’ and filmmakers’ association in collaboration with AGIS, Anec, Italy’s exhibitors’ association, Italia Cinema and Club des Producteurs during the European Film Academy Awards 2002. The programme includes keynote speeches by representatives from Europe’s leading film and audiovisual institutions like the Media Programme, Eurimages, EuropaCinemas, Media Salles and the European Audiovisual Observatory. They will be followed by individual experiences from each of the EU’s member country’s markets.
Those taking part include the CNC’s David Kessler, the British Film Institute’s Paul Brett, Fera’s Joao Correa, producers Riccardo Tozzi, Andrea Occhipinti, Marco Mueller, and directors Emidio Greco and Maurizio Sciarra.
”Co-producing in Italy” will run from 10.00 to 13.00 and the event is promoted by the European Producers’ Club with API and Agis. The participants include David Kessler from the CNC and the British Film Institute’s Paul Brett as well as numerous exponents of the Italian film industry who will speak about production, co-production, sourcing funds, the strengths and weaknesses of the Italian system. “Other People’s Taste” and “Co-producing in Italy” were set up with help from the Italian culture ministry.
