At last Elling’s mother has got a name. Up till now there has been much expectancy about who will be playing the mother of the peculiar Elling in the second feature film this time called Ellings mor (Ellings Mother) with the first feature nominated for the Oscar of best foreign language film last year. The actress chosen for the part of Elling’s mother is the Norwegian veteran Grete Nordrad who will be returning back to the big screen after years of theatre work. "It is a very funny role and I’m both very excited and frightened. I’m a big fan of Ingvar Ambjornsen since his first book about Elling and I think it is fantastic being able to bring one of his characters to life". said Nordrad to Filmmagasinet. Shooting of the film, directeb by Eva Isaksen, will start in April next year with domestic premier scheduled in autumn 2003.
