Veteran Italian film director, Pupi Avati is the new president of Cinecittà Holding, the company that promotes Italian cinema through Istituto Luce (Production, distribution, and sales), Cinecittà Studios and Italia Cinema. Cinecittà Holding's shareholder of reference is the Italian Minister for Culture.
Fininvest executive, Ubaldo Livolsi is likely to become the managing director. The new board is made up of sociologist Francesco Alberoni, the president of the SNC; Gaetano Blandini, an audiovisual legal affairs expert; Michele Lo Foco, an expert in Film rights and a member of the board of Italia Cinema; Angelo Maria Petroni, the director of the Italian Council of Ministers’ Superior School of Public Administration; Alessandro Usai, an assistant professor at the Bocconi University who is working on a reform to the Italian film industry; writer and editorialist Marcello Veneziani.
