Europlex comes to Italy

by

Leading Swiss film exhibition entrepreneur and head of Europlex BV, Charles Wesoky announced his entry into the Italian arena with a new company called EuroPlex Cinema Italia and the purchase of the Kinepolis Piotello multiscreen from its Belgian owners, the Kinepolis Group NV.
Situated on the outskirts of Milan, the Kinepolis Pioltello is a 14-screen structure that has done increasingly good business since opening its doors to the public in March 2001.
Wesoky also announced he would shortly be opening new multiscreens in Rome, Arezzo and Rovigo. “EuroPlex Piotello will give us an excellent opportunity to become the next market leader in Italy, “ he said. The company just bought two theatres in Geneva and opened its second multiscreen complex, an 8-screen-1,800 capacity complex, in Larissa, the fourth largest city in Greece.
