The German film critics’ guild announced the recipients of its annual awards for the best productions of 2002.

(Grill Point) by Andreas Dresen. Best first film went to last year’s winner of the "Max Ohphüls" award, Das Weisse Rauschen, Hans Weingartner’s tale of a boy afflicted by schizophrenia starring Daniel Brühl who won best actor. Martina Gedeck took home the best actress award for her performance in the popular hit, Mostly Martha [+see also:

Best documentary was won by Thomas Ridelsheimer’s Rivers and Tide about sculptor Andy Goldsworthy.
