My First Miracle wins Ophüls Award

Anne Wild’s feature directorial debut, the fittingly titled My First Miracle won this year’s Max Ophüls Film Festival and a cash prize of Euros36,000. The film tells the story of a friendship between an eleven-year-old girl and a married family man, over thirty years her senior.
Ikarus by Agnes Pluch and Bernhard Weirather won the best screenplay award presented by German state broadcaster ZDF and Saarland Television. An Austrian feature entitled Ravioli by Peter Peyer is the story of a man who regains his zest for life after losing everything, won the young jury award.
