Focus on the Mediterranean

Submissions to the 8th edition of the International Mediterranean Documentary Award, the finals of which are scheduled to take place in Italy from 2-6 April are now open.
Three prizes will be awarded at this year’s event that is organised by the Mediterranean Centre for Audiovisual Communication (CMCA) and Italian state broadcaster RAI.
“Enjeux méditerranéens” is specialised in 30’ (max) investigative journalism into current news stories. “Qualité et création” will go to the best documentary (between 13 and 90 minutes in length) while “Mémoires de la Méditerranée” will go to a film about an historical event that took place in this region. RAI and France 3 will present two special awards to the finalists and will also air the the winning films.
Those wishing to take part should send a VHS copy of their film in either French, English or Italian, as well as a list and brief description of the films they made in the last two years, a mini-CV and a brief synopsis of the film being submitted to the CMCA no later than 4 March 2003.
