by

FFHSH, the film funding institution of the city of Hamburg and federal state of Schleswig-Holstein, has published its annual results amid an atmosphere of contained delight at the improvement since 2009. Indeed, there has been an increase of around 30% in the number of film shoots in the region for projects backed by the institution.

Last year, funding to the tune of €14m was granted to 157 films. Most of it (€12.9m) was used to fund the production of 75 big-screen and television films, amounting to €27m in related investment from this funding, representing a regional return of 207%.
