Bavarian Film Fund in competition

Two films financed by the Bavaria Film Fund were selected for competition at this year’s Berlinale: Lichter by Hans-Christian Schmid and Der Alte Affe Angst by Oskar Roehler.
Lichter unfolds over two days in the life of a group of people who learn to love, hate and help each other and to hope for a better place. The film stars numerous German, Polish and Russian actors including cui August Diehl, Julia Krynke, Anna Janowskaja, Sergej Frolov and Janek Rieke and is scheduled for a domestic release in the late summer of 2003.
Der Alte Affe Angst is about the relationship between a man dying of cancer and his son. The film aslo stars Maria Bauemer, as the son’s girlfriend. The actress won the Bavarian Film Award for Der Alte Affe Angst in January 2003.
