Film London lights FLAMIN projects

by

Film London Artists’ Moving Image Network (FLAMIN) is investing over £170,000 of production funding in addition to £30,000 of development funding and support, in five new moving image projects from London-based artists.

This follows the Arts Council England (ACE) decision to continue supporting FLAMIN with almost £1m over three years between 2012-2015. The projects by artists Hilary Koob-Sassen, Ursula Mayer, Laure Prouvost, Grace Schwindt and Emily Wardill will each receive between £30,000 and £42,000.

Film London CEO Adrian Wootton said, “This is an area which produces challenging and thought-provoking work. This grant is vital in maintaining Film London’s successful initiatives, such as the Jarman Award and FLAMIN Productions, so artists have the funding and resources available to continue to challenge conventional perceptions of art and film.”

Maggie Ellis, Head of Production and Talent Development at Film London, said, “FLAMIN Productions currently represents a unique opportunity within the art film sector, offering substantial financial investment alongside a generous raft of practical support. The five projects we have selected look set to repeat the fantastic success of the first year’s slate and I look forward to seeing the artists and their projects realise their tremendous potential.”
