Prisma goes bankrupt

The Vienna-based production company, Prisma Film has filed for a bankruptcy after reporting debts of Euros2m. Prisma produced a series of documentaries for the cinema and television, and in 1996 entered the feature film production arena with titles like Die Totale Therapie by Christian Frosch, Lovely Rita [+see also:

by Jessica Hausner, Vollgas by Sabine Derflinger. Their most recent hit was Mostly Martha [+see also:

Prisma should settle with its 80 to 100 creditors in March but for the time being, the bankruptcy procedures means the company will close down for about two months, delaying the completion of production work on its two international co-productions: Bakhtiar Khudojnazarov’s Leo and Christian Frosch’s Verschwörungen.
