Three Italian films and one British among August’s Many Blockbusters

American blockbusters dominate the programme of film releases in Italian cinemas during the month of August. But among the various US comedies, which include Diary of a Whimpy Kid 2 (out on 5 August), Mr. Popper’s Penguins with Jim Carrey (12 August), Horrible Bosses with Jennifer Aniston and Colin Farrell (17 August) and animated film Kung Fu Panda 2 (24 August), three Italian films and one British are also leading the way.

August 5 sees the release of In the Market [+see also:

, a horror film directed by Lorenzo Lombardi, produced by Whiterose Pictures and The Coproducers, and distributed by Whiterose. Inspired by real events, the film tells the story of three young guys whose carefree holiday turns into nightmare when they come across a market where animal meat is not the only kind to be butchered...

Almeno tu nell'universo by Luca Biglione, with Giuseppe Maggio (appearing in Amore 14 [+see also:

by Federico Moccia) and Giulia Elettra Gorietti arrives to cinema screens on August 12. It’s a story of love and suffering which has as lead characters two twenty-something friends who are very different from each other. Produced by Dania Film and Surf Film in collaboration with Rai Cinema, the film is distributed by Lucky Red.

August 26 will be the turn of the comedy Come trovare nel modo giusto l'uomo sbagliato, directed by Daniela Cursi Masella and Salvatore Allocca, with Francesca Inaudi, Giorgia Surina, Giulia Bevilacqua and Enrico Silvestrin. Produced by Home Film and distributed by 20th Century Fox, the film is based on the novel by Daniela Cursi Masella and tells the story of three girl friends on the lookout for the ideal man.

Finally, room is made for British film, with the arrival – still on August 26 – of This is England [+see also:

by Shane Meadows, distributed by Officine UBU. The film, which is not really recent (from 2006), takes place in July 1983 and is a story centred on the British skinhead culture, embellished by the music of Turin-born pianist and composer Ludovico Einaudi.
