The registration period closes on Monday, September 26 for the training programme IMBS – International Markets Business School, which will be held from October 27-29 in the Brazilian city of São Paulo. Organised by the Media Business School (MBS), a training centre that has set up important programmes in this sector in Europe like Mega Plus (Master in European Audiovisual Management), IMBS focuses on international sales and distribution in the entertainment industry and is aimed at professionals in the sector from Europe and Latin America.

Over three days, a group of highly-qualified experts will share their knowledge about the international market in sectors like co-production and international financing; the creation and optimization of an international sales, marketing and distribution strategy; the sale of digital content; negotiation of contracts; new business models, as well as presentation and pitching techniques.

Aside from the overall aims of the course, such as access to experts and the creation of an international sales strategy for their projects, European professionals taking part in the course will have the opportunity to build international contacts on emerging markets on other continents thanks to the tools provided by digital media.

Indeed, the digital media will be one of the central elements of the course, thanks to its ability to increase the circulation of audiovisual projects on the worldwide market. Other aspects that will receive special attention are setting up international sales agencies on developing markets; providing independent producers with the tools necessary to sell their projects outside of their local market; improving the effectiveness and professionalism of project presentations; and creating a network of professional contacts that boost the international circulation of their projects.

The IMBS is held in conjunction with the São Paulo International Film Festival and it has been organised in collaboration with Cinema do Brasil and the Lusophone University with support from MEDIA Mundus, the Ibermedia Programme and the ICAA. This innovative training course represents an evolution in the activity of the school, specifically the Film Business School – Latin America (FBS-LA) programme, organised in 2010 following the model of the prestigious Marketing & Distribution (MD).
