Cinecittà - Istituto Luce: Authors attack Board of Directors
by Camillo de Marco
27/09/2011 - Culture Minister Giancarlo Galan has been criticised byAnac the National Association of Filmmakers, and the association 100autori over the latest top-brass appointments at Cinecittà - Istituto Luce.
In the past few days, the minister has implemented reforms to reorganise the company that supports the development and the promotion of Italian cinema, designating a new Board of Directors: Rodrigo Cipriani President; Roberto Cicutto (former President Cinecittà Luce) Managing Director; Riccardo Tozzi (President Anica) Director.
Moreover, the fact that Luciano Sovena has not been confirmed as MD has incited a parliamentary enquiry endorsed by 30 MPs of varying political ranks.
Yesterday, Cicutto gave his response: “I would be happy to meet both associations for an exchange of opinions on the strategic choices I made together with the Minister Giancarlo Galan. A true reform which preserves the cultural characteristics of our action and make it more efficient in supporting the development of the film industry cannot leave aside results obtained also through the actions of authors, producers, workers and the trade union. It is on that basis that the new company intends to start and on that I am happy to open dialogue right now”.
