Dublin Festival announces line-up

Michael Dwyer, the artistic director of the first Jameson Dublin Film Festival, described the key attractions and programme to a packed audience of over 400 supporters and guests at a press conference in the Irish capital on 25 February.
Over 66 films from 30 countries will be screened between 6-13 March. The opening film is Michael Winterbottom’s Golden Bear-winning In this world. Irish director Jim Sheridan will inaugurate the Irish Film Cinema season on 7 March with his latest feature, In America followed by six Irish films or films by new Irish directors, all of whom will be present with their cast, writers and producers. The titles are Damien O’Donnell’s Heartlands, Liz Gill’s Goldfish Memories, Eoin Moore’s Pigs Will Fly, Marion Comer’s Boxed and Thaddeus O'Sullivan’s The Heart of Me. Robert Quinn’s Dead Bodies will close the festival.
The guests at this first important edition include Spanish actor Javier Bardem (Mondays in the Sun [+see also:

), English director Alan Parker (The Life Of David Gale [+see also:

]
) and French director Claire Denis.
The Dublin Jameson programme also includes a selection of short films, all of which are former winners of the Jameson Short Film Award.
The festival box office opened yesterday (26 February) and over 1000 bookings were made in the first sixty minutes.
