BERLINALE 2012 Europe

30 Cine-Regio supported films screening in Berlin

A total of 30 films - supported by the members of Cine-Regio - the network representing 34 regional funds from 14 European countries - have been selected to screen in the several sections of the current 62nd Berlinale, eight of them competing for the Golden Bear.

While announcing these figures, Cine-Regio General Secretary Charlotte Appelgren said: “This means that 30 films are connected and have a relation to the European regions. This states the importance of the work of Cine-Regio that acts as a lobby and network organization encouraging cross-border and interregional co-operation and co-production…It is very encouraging and a great strength that money is put into films that offer a high artistic value, explores, new talents and stands for cinematic innovation.”
