The director has just started to shoot his fourth feature Seven Days (Siedem dni). The screenplay’s details are still a secret, but the main theme will be corruption. The film was pitched with the line “Seven days, seven friends, seven capital sins", and according to Wojciech Smarzowski will be “the portrait of a town, a parable about corruption." The plot is to start in the back of a police car and to finish in Brussels.
The film will feature, among others, Arkadiusz Jakubik, Bartlomiej Topa, Marian Dziędziel, Marcin Dorociński, Kinga Preis, and Agata Kulesza, as well as several hundreds of the filmmaker’s fans who have been invited to take part on set.
Produced by Film IT, Seven Days is co-produced by Agora, Telekomunikacja Polska, and Canal+ Polska. Le Polish Film Institute is supporting the film with €640,000. Filming will take place in Varsovia until April 20. Piotr Sobociński Jr. will be director of photography, Joanna Macha will be in charge of production design, and jazzman Mikolaj Trzaska will work on the film’s soundtrack. The film is due out in cinemas in 2013.
