A trio of co-productions for the French-German commission

03/04/2012 - During its meeting on March 29, the French-German co-production support commission decided to give €760,000 in total to three feature film projects.
Lauf, Junge, lauf by Pepe Danquart (photo - To The Limit [trailer]), is inspired by the autobiography of children’s writer Uri Orlev, from the Warsaw ghetto to emigration. The film won Berlin-based production company bittersuess (co-producer to 70%) €200,000, and French production company Cine Sud Promotion €70,000.
Der letzte Mensch by Pierre Henry Salfati, whose hero is the sole survivor of a series of crimes, is co-produced in Cologne by Elsani Film (80,12%, €200,000) and in Paris by Sequoia Films (19,88%, €70,000).
Finally, the French director Denis Dercourt (Tomorrow at Dawn [trailer, film focus]) received funding for the psychological drama Zum Geburtstag, co-produced in Düsseldorf by Busse & Halberschmidt Filmproduktion OHG (70%, €150,000) and in France by Cité Films (20%, €70,000).
