Icon gets Sylvia Plath project

- The UK distribution arm of Mel Gibson and Bruce Davey’s group has bought from BBC all UK rights to Christine Jeff’s film

Icon Film Distribution, the UK distribution arm of Mel Gibson and Bruce Davey’s Icon Entertainment Group has bought from BBC Films all UK rights to Christine Jeff’s Ted & Sylvia (provisional title – Editor’s note) starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Daniel Craig.
Icon already owns the Australian rights while Focus Features acquired the north-American ones to this film which is currently in post-production.
Ted & Sylvia is the passionate and tragic story of poets Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes, and was produced by Alison Owen for Ruby Films, with financial support from BBC Films, the Film Council and Capitol Films, who are handling the international sales.
The UK distribution deal on the film was brokered between BBC Films’ Isabel Begg and Jane Wright, and Icon’s Nick Hill, recently promoted to CEO of the UK Icon Group. Hill’s many pickups include Open Hearts [+see also:
