The Critics’ Week selection Broken [trailer] by Rufus Norris starring Tim Roth and Cillian Murphy was acquired from Wild Bunch Germany for Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and the Baltic countries. The film is competing for the Camera d’or.

Other Cannes acquisitions include Morgan Spurlock’s entertaining look at the world’s largest comic book convention, San Diego for Comic-Con, the film Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope which will be released in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and the Baltic countries. Autlook Film Sales negotiated the deal.

Two Italian films were added to NonStop’s line-up: the Taviani brothers’ Golden Bear winner Caesar Must Die [trailer, film focus] acquired for Sweden, Finland and Iceland, and A.C.A.B. - All Cops Are Bastards [trailer, film focus] by debut director Stefano Sollima set to open in the Nordic and Baltic territories.

NonStop Entertainment’s previous acquisition Beasts of the Southern Wild by Bent Zeitlin which screened at Un Certain Regard was very well received earlier in the festival and looks like a stronger contender for the Camera d’or.
