Nastri d'Argento: Ozpetek-Giordana go head-to-head with 9 nominations each

05/06/2012 - Ferzan Ozpetek's Magnificent Presence [trailer] and Marco Tullio Giordana's Romanzo di una strage [trailer], will, with 9 nominations each, be competing against each other for the greatest number of Nastri d'Argento 2012, the awards given by film journalists of the SNGCI (Italian National Union of Film Journalists). Ozpetek and Giordana will compete against Daniele Vicari (Diaz [trailer, film focus], 7 nominations in total), Emanuele Crialese (Terraferma [trailer, film focus], 5 nominations) and Paolo Sorrentino (This Must Be the Place [trailer, film focus], 5 nominations) for the Award for Best Director .
A surprise 5 nominations have also been given to Carlo Verdone's film about fathers who are separated from their wives,A Flat for Three [trailer], nominated in the category of Best Comedy. The most nominations received this year also include Francesco Bruni's Easy! [trailer] ( Italian Controcampo award at the latest Venice Film Festival) and Stefano Sollima's A.C.A.B. Finally, the film journalists awarded the Nastro of the Year 2012 to Paolo and Vittorio Taviani's Caesar Must Die [trailer, film focus] , already a winner in Berlin and at the David di Donatello awards, as well as of an award to the film's cast, the prisoners of the Rebibbia prison, some of whom were present last night, exceptionally, in the Villa Medici, the base of the French Academy in Rome, where the nominations were announced (without a red carpet, in support of the national day of mourning for the victims of the earthquake in Emilia Romagna).
