Apichatpong Weerasethakul is President of Locarno's Jury

12/06/2012 - Thai film-maker, screenwriter, producer and video director Apichatpong Weerasethakul will be President of the Jury of the 65th Locarno Film Festival's International Competition, taking place on 1-11 August. Born in 1970, Apichatpong Weerasethakul has made five feature films. He won the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival in 2010 for Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives [trailer]. His previous film, Syndromes and a Century, is considered by several critics and film experts to be «one of the best films of the last decade». He is currently working on a project based on the Mékong river on the Thai-Laotian border.
