Sarajevo announces new sidebar Kinoscope
22/06/2012 - The Sarajevo Film Festival (July 6-14) has announced a new non-competitive programme called Kinoscope
Kinoscope brings 18 films from around the world and outside of the region of south-eastern Europe which is eligible for the competition. The selection is curated by Mike Goodridge, former editor of Screen International and new CEO of UK’s Protagonist Pictures, and Alessandro Raja and Mathilde Henrot, founders of Festival Scope.
“What appeals to all of us is storytelling and film-making which dares to be different,” say the programmers in a statement published on Sarajevo Film Festival’s website. “By experimenting with narrative conventions and form, sound, music, pacing and performance, the film-makers in Kinoscope push the boundaries of the medium in ways which we found inspiring.”
