(read more), to the East of the West section of the competition at the 47th Karlovy Vary Film Festival, which starts today. The film, set to make its international premiere at the Czech event, features Janos Kulka, Zsolt Nagy (photo), Gabriella Hamori, and Péter Scherer.

Produced by Unio Film, The Exam is a cross between a psychological drama and a spy film. The film is set one year after Budapest’s 1956 crushed uprising, when the Hungarian people are still living in fear. A young secret service agent has to undergo a loyalty test, while also facing challenges in his personal life.
