03/07/2012 - Patrick Sobelman is once again producing a film by Isabelle Czajka, this time to star Emmanuelle Devos, Julie Ferrier, Helena Noguerra, and Natacha Régnier

She speaks of very political things: justice, equality, coexistence, how a couple functions, life’s arrangements, dreams that have or have not been fulfilled, time that passes -- existential questions that concern us all."

film profile]) and Natacha Régnier (who will be out in cinemas this November in Capital - news). Laurent Poitrenaux, Michaël Abiteboul, Sava Lolov, Grégoire Oestermann, Marie-Christine Barrault, and Laurent Capuletto will also feature in the cast.

The filmmaker has freely adapted Canadian writer Rachel Cusk's novel Arlington Park for her screenplay, whose action is set over the course of a single day. In La vie domestique, 42-year-old Juliette (Emmanuelle Devos) is married with two children and lives in a comfortable home near the Marly Park on the outskirts of Paris. Today, she has to cook dinner for friends coming in the evening, finish writing an article, and hold a writing workshop in a secondary school. Before going out, she also needs to put a load of washing on, and call the babysitter. Finally, today she will also find out whether she has been offered an important job in publishing. Marianne (Régnier), Betty (Ferrier), and Inès (Noguerra), also have husbands, children, cars, and beautiful houses near the Marly Park. They usually meet up for coffee after school, and this afternoon they are going to the commercial centre. Marianne is expecting a third child, and has just employed a new au pair. Betty needs to go shopping and take Louise to her riding class. Towards the end of the afternoon, Inès will take her children to the public garden, before spending the rest of the evening with them at home. Her husband is never around. This morning, all these women are busy thinking about all they have to do today, but one day they will wonder what they have done with their lives.

Produced by Agat Films & Ex Nihilo, La vie domestique will be co-produced by France 2 Cinéma. It has been pre-acquired by Canal+ and Ciné+, and has received support from Sofica A Plus Image and Indéfilms. Shooting will take place in the Ile-de-France region until August 14. Ad Vitam will handle the film’s distribution in French cinemas, and Films Distribution will be in charge of international sales.

Patrick Sobelman is also producing several other films. In post-production, he has A Greek Type of Problem by Brigitte Rouän (article - to be released in France on January 16, 2013 by Ad Vitam) and Queen of Montreuil by Solveig Anspach (to be released in France at the end of January 2013 by Diaphana). And next December, he will launch filming for Son épouse (lit. “His wife”) by Michel Spinosa (Anna M.).
