The close-on 500 voting members of the Foreign Press Association in Italy have assigned this year’s Lifetime Achievement Golden Globe to Ettore Scola. "Like no other director before him, Ettore Scola has managed to portray major events in Italy through the characters of his films and he fully deserves this award,” said Peter Loewe, the president of the foreign press association. Loewe added that in his home country of Sweden, Scola enjoyed a twenty-year reign as the most popular Italian director.
The next edition of the Globes is scheduled for 2 July in Rome.
