by

Set up in September 2002 to support and promote Flemish-language Belgian films at every step of the creative, productive and distributive process, the Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds (VAF) has just published its first progress report.
To date, 24 films benefited from VAF’s generosity, including 25 degré en hiver by Stéphane Vuillet (Man's film productions), The Wedding Party by Dominique Deruddere(MMG), De Koning van de wereld by Guido Henderickx et Marc Didden (Roses are Blue), Speed of Love by Alex Stockman, Een ander zijn geluk by Fien Troch (Prime Time), and Ellektra by Rudolph Mesdagh (Cosmo-Kino).
VAF was set up with the intent of stimulating the creativity, quality, originality and professionalism of Flemish-language Belgian audiovisual production and make it more popular with domestic audiences. The Fund has a Euros12.5m annual budget, 78 per cent of which earmarked for direct financial support of audiovisual projects that include TV drama, documentaries, features, animated and experimental films.
