(which competed in Cannes) and after the documentary Listening to Judge Garzón (2011). Shooting is to last until mid-October in Igualada and around Barcelona.

All people working on the film, members of the technical and artistic teams alike, have signed a confidentiality clause according to which they can’t reveal the film’s plot, upon Coixet’s request. The cast, led by Javier Cámara and Candela Peña, are not allowed to reveal any details about the screenplay, written by the filmmaker herself. We only know that the story is set in the near future, in 2017.

“Recently, spectators have been going to see films knowing far too much about them,” said Coixet. “There’s an unhealthy saturation of information. I already know that it will be almost impossible, but I would still like spectators to set off to see Ayer no termina nunca knowing very little about the story.”

She has however said that the film would be “a kind of return to the world of My Life Without Me [+see also:

mixed with aspects of the here and now of the situation that we are living through as a country.”

Ayer no termina nunca is co-produced by the director’s company Miss Wasabi, with A Contracorriente Films, for whom it is the fourth feature as a producer after, among others, Painless [+see also:

As soon as she has finished shooting Ayer no termina nunca, Coixet is to resume focusing on a project of greater dimensions on which she has been working for a while, horror film Panda Eyes, co-produced by Spanish production company Tornasol Films and British production company Rainy Day Films, and to star Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Sansa Stark.
