European Film Schools on display

The winners of the 26th International Festival of Film Schools were announced on 16 March. The festival, which is the sector’s most important European event, took place from 10-16 March in Poitiers, France.
74 short films from around 50 countries were selected for competition with this year's top prizes going to Swedish productions. The Jury Prize went to K-G I nod och lust by Jens Jonsson of Stockholm’s Dramatika Institut, while fellow Dramatika student Marten Klingberg took home the Audience Award for Viktor och hans bröder. A number of students from the UK's NFTS (National Film Theatre School) students also triumphed: John Chorlton’s Last Rumba in Rochdale won a special mention from the jury while Joachim Trier’s Procter won the Screenplay Award. The SACEM Award was won by Kim Hyun-Joo for Sap.
The International New Media Prize was awarded to Chi si fa l’aspetti, an ensemble film by students at Milan's European Institute of Design while the Découverte French Critics' Award went to Anders Morgenthaler of Denmark’s Danish Film School for Araki/i>.
