16/11/2012 - ITI Cinema releases Piotr Trzaskalski’s latest film starring Artur Zmijewski, Michal Urbaniak, and Krzysztof Chodorowski

film profile]) is finally out today in Polish cinemas, distributed by ITI Cinema. The film has received great reviews in Poland and abroad.

Written by the director and Wojciech Lepianka, the screenplay is, in a way, an original guide of the masculine universe. It centres on three men from three generations who are all in conflict: the grandfather, the father, and the son. Each has their own baggage of experience, and carries around the burden of their emotions, disillusionments, and resentments. After years of silence between them, they are suddenly forced to spend a few days together in a small rental house. They will try to overcome their resentment, to understand each other, to find a common language.

"Relationships between men are the best relationships you can imagine in cinema. Because the masculine world is by nature marked by competition. Rivalry between these men is an engine, and incitement to action," says Artur Zmijewski who plays one of the three main roles, beside Michal Urbaniak and Krzysztof Chodorowski.

Produced by Marta Plucinska and Pawel Pluciński for Federico Film, My Father’s Bike was co-produced by TVN S.A. The director of photography was Piotr Sliskowski, whose work has been honoured with the film’s selection for the Camerimage festival (a event honouring cinematographers) to start on November 24 in Bydgoszcz.
