In the film's screenplay, an adaptation by Michaël Cohen of Jim & Mermoux's comic book L'invitation (lit. "The invitation"), Raphaël, in his forties, and his partner Hélène are woken up in the middle of the night by a phone call. It's Leo, his best friend, whose car has broken down and who asks him to come and help. When he arrives, Raphaël discovers that he isn't the only one to have made the journey. Leo in fact rang up all his friends to create what he calls a "friendship test". A few days later, Raphaël decides to play the same prank...

Chronique d'une vie ordinaire is to be shot for 22 days in February-March 2013. The rest of the film's partners are to be announced at a later date.
