I Am Yours - and that wasn't what he said to James Bond

"I Am Yours is about the desire to be loved, a desire that is so strong that it is almost self-effacing. It is the portrait of a woman and her fear of losing the one she loves, for if she does, who is she then?" said Norwegian-Nepali director Iram Haq, who last week (December 5) finished principal photography on his first feature.

Scripted by Haq as "a modern love story", the film follows a second-generation immigrant, Norwegian-Pakistani Mina, who is a single mother living in Oslo with her six-year-old son Felix. Her ties to her original family are strained, and her relationships with different men are not long-lasting until she meets Jesper, a Swedish film director.

(2010) and the Wallander TV detective series. "Iram called me and told me the story, and I fell for it at once - the clash of the different worlds Mina lives in," he recalled.

Mina is portrayed by Norwegian-Nepali actress Amrita Acharica, who - after India, Ukraine and the UK - is now living in Norway. A graduate from London's ALRA Academy, she has also performed in the HBO-series Game of Thrones. "This is a story with a strong personal touch which has not before been told in Norway," she said.

I Am Yours is packaged by Norwegian producer Maria Ekerhovd, of Mer Film, who won Norway's first Golden Palm in Cannes for Norwegian director Bobbie Peers' short, Sniffer, and now is producing his feature debut, Dirk Ohm - The Illusionist That Disappeared [+see also:
