UPC in its Element with VOD, Volta locks Eye

- Mea Maxima Culpa to release on demand simultaneously with theatrical

Leading Irish production house Element Pictures and its distribution wing Element Pictures Distribution (EPD) have signed a deal with Irish service provider UPC where some key Element titles will be made available to Irish television viewers via the UPC On Demand service. The first title under the deal is Alex Gibney’s IFTA-winning documentary Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God that looks at corruption in the Catholic Church. The film will be available from February 22, the same day that the film is released in cinemas.

Some of EPD’s library titles are available on Irish video on demand platform Volta, who recently struck a deal with the UK’s Artificial Eye. Leos Carax’s Holy Motors [+see also:

are some of the Artificial Eye films available on Volta with Michael Haneke and Lars von Trier’s back catalogues also being part of the deal.
