I Belong and Kon-Tiki almost share Trondheim's Cannon awards

- The two films by Norwegian directors Dag Johan Haugerud and Espen Sandberg-Joachim Rønning each picked up five prizes from the Norwegian film workers' unions

Norwegian director Dag Johan Haugerud's feature debut, I Belong, which was last week named Best Norwegian Film 2012 by the Norwegian Critics Association, collected five Cannon prizes, when the Norwegian film workers' eight unions last night (April 15) presented their annual awards at opening of the 14th Kosmorama Trondheim International Film Festival.

The "tragicomedy about the human factor" won for Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Innovator (Haugerud), Best Supporting Actor/Actress (Andrea Bræin Hovig), and Best Editing (Jens Christian Fodstad).
 
Five Cannons also went to Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning's Oscar-nominated Kon-Tiki [+see also:

received four prizes - for Best Producer (Aage Aaberge), Best Cinematopgrahy (Geir Hartly Andreassen), Best Production Design (Karl Júlíusson), Best Musical Score (Johan Söderqvist), Best Sound Design (Tormod Ringnes, Baard Haugan Ingebretsen).
 
The remaining two awards, for Best Actor and Best Actress, were picked up by Kristoffer Joner and Cecilie A Mosli, leading the cast of Arild Andresen's The Orheim Company [+see also:

Norway's annual video prizes were presented at the closing ceremony of the 31st Norwegian Video Festival at Lillehammer last Friday (12 April). "For the third time in recent years a Norwegian film - Kon-Tiki - took most of the prizes; it confirms the strong position of local cinema on the home market," said video consultant Erik Zmuda, of Norwegian cinema association Film & Kino.
