Presided by American director and producer Steven Spielberg (news), the (highly seasoned) composition of the jury for the competition in the 66thCannes Fim Festival (from May 15th to 26th, 2013) was revealed in Paris this morning.

Four women are on the list : Australian star Nicole Kidman (Oscar for Best Actress in 2003), British director and producer Lynne Ramsay, Indian actress Vidya Balan and Japanese filmmaker Naomi Kawase (Caméra d’Or in 1997 and winner of the Grand Prix in Cannes, 2007).

Also called upon to judge the 19 films in the running for the Palme d’Or 2013 (article), Roumanian director Christian Mungiu (winner of the Palme d’Or in 2007 and the prize for Best Screenplay in Cannes last year), French actor Daniel Auteuil (Best Actor on the Croisette in 1996) and his Austrian counterpart, Christopher Waltz (who won the same award in Cannes in 2009 and an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 2010 and 2013), and director Ang Lee of Taiwan (Oscar for Best Director in 2006 and 2013).
