The Porcupine will be the Booker Prize-winning author Julian Barnes’ first film adaptation since Metroland (1997). The project will be co-produced by Germany’s Departures Film, Bulgaria’s Camera Ltd, Croatia’s Drugi Plan, Macedonia’s Sektor Film, and Romania’s Elefant Films.

F&ME also announced in Cannes that Dutch production outfit Jaja Filmproductions and Brazil’s TV Zero have boarded Streetkids United 2-Brazil 2014, to be directed by Roberto Berliner. The sequel to the 2011 Berlinale hit Streetkids United -shot during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa- will coincide with the charity event Street Child World Cup, set to take place prior to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
