by Vittoria Scarpa
- Amounting to a total of €500,000, the grant is aimed at supporting cinema productions working in Apulia, and is destined to Italian, European as well as global productions
Application for the new hospitality grant will be open until 30 September 2013, with a total of €500,000 available. This is the third funding period set forth by the Apulia Film Commission, with the aim of supporting productions working in Apulia. Italian, European as well as global productions making fiction feature films, television films and web series are all eligible. The maximum contribution amount is €1500,000.
The hospitality grant is made up of European funding, and can be accumulated with two other funds from the Apulia FC, the International Film Fund and the National Film Fund. “In 2013, the total amount of funds made available will have amounted to €3.5 million,” the Apulia Film Commission director Silvio Maselli said. "The hospitality grant, which adds itself to other Apulia grants, is a block grant for Italian as well as foreign productions. Grants can be combined and mean that foreign films working in Apulia can receive up to €300,000 through these means towards feature films and television fiction films. Support limit is €400,000 for Italian projects.”
Hospitality grant films supported in the past include: Three way weeks by Bruno Coppola, Madre Terra by Giulio Manfredonia, the Italian filming of soap opera Beautiful, The Third Person by Paul Haggis, Marina by Stijn Coninx, Ci vediamo domani by Andrea Zaccariello, Eppideis by Lucio Gaudino and Leone nel basilico [+see also:
