Produced by the director (an experienced documentary filmmaker) and Xenia Maingot for Eaux Vives Productions, this first fiction feature film is set in a village hidden away in the swamps, at the mouth of the Danube in Romania. There, Constantin, 12 years old, lives a free and wild life, spending his time fishing to feed his family and playing in the forest. His father is in prison and his mother, an isolated woman, is struggling to make ends meet. One day, in the forest, Constantin discovers a foreigner, who is sick and wounded. The young boy feeds and looks after him, hiding him from the adults. A father-son relationship slowly emerges between the two of them. Constantin ends up bonding with this foreigner, both secretive and disturbing, who carries the scars of a world in decline...
