A proposal for the creation of a new support fund for television films included in a new revised draft of the Austrian Communications Authority Act (KommAustria Gesetz) was presented this week in Vienna. KommAustria is Austrian broadcasting’s official regulatory body. Peter Mayer, the president of the Association of Austrian Film Producers reacted positively to the proposal while Gerhard Schedl, head of the Austrian Film Institute was more cautious. There has been no reaction from Austrian state broadcaster, ORF.
