Bloody Sunday nominated for three BATCAs

Paul Greengrass's award-winning film, Bloody Sunday [+see also:

, has just been nominated for three BATCA (British Academy Television Craft Awards) awards in the following categories: best editing, cinematography and lighting and sound. The BATCAs will be presetned during a gala event at the Dorchester Hotel in London on 11 May.
Produced by Mark Redhead and co-funded by the Film Council's New Cinema Fund, Bloody Sunday has already won a number of major awards including the 2002 Golden Bear in Berlin and the Audience Award in Sundance.

Greengrass has a new film in the pipeline, Crosstown Traffic, about the last two days in the life of rock legend Jimi Hendrix. The project was backed by the Film Council to the tune of £94,000 (Euros137.688).

Two television dramas produced by the BBC were also nominated for BATCAs: Daniel Deronda, which scored in five categories, and The Gathering Storm, a WWII drama about Winston Churchill and his wife, Clementine, starring Albert Finney and Vanessa Redgrave was nominated in four.
