On November 25, according to our information, the filming will begin of Cédric Anger’s third feature: La prochaine fois, je viserai le coeur. Inspired by the case of the “Oise killer” (a policeman investigating his own crimes towards the end of the 70’s), the film will star popular actor Guillaume Canet (Best Actor Award in Rome in 2011 for A Better Life [+see also:

Written by the director, the screenplay delves into the years 1978-1979. For several months, the inhabitants of a quiet region find themselves living in panic and fear: a maniac is at work, targeting young women. He escapes the traps set by the investigators and the roadblocks because he is a young and shy policeman leading a mundane life within his brigade. A model policeman, he is put in charge of investigating his own crimes...

Previously a journalist for the Cahiers du Cinéma, Cédric Anger (read the interview) had then begun writing screenplays (including Selon Matthieu and Le Petit Lieutenant [+see also:

Produced by Thomas Klotz and Anne Rapczyk  for Sunrise Films, La prochaine fois, je viserai le coeur was pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+. Backed notably by Pictanovo, the feature will be filmed in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region (especially in Lens and Arras). Mars Films will handle French distribution while international sales are still being negotiated.
