Puckoon out today

by

Puckoon, based on the novel by the late Irish comedian and writer Spike Milligan’s, is released today, 4 April by Guerilla Films in selected UK and northern Irish cinemas.
Directed by Terence Ryan (The Big Freeze, The Brylcreem Boys), Puckoon had a charity premiere in Belfast on 2nd April, before a VIP audience and most of the cast and crew lead by Sean Hughes (The Butcher Boy), Richard Attenborough and Milo O’Shea.
Set in 1924, Puckoon, a satirical comedy about a village literally divided in two by the partition of Ireland, was filmed mostly in Northern Ireland by Peter Hannan, one of the UK’s leading directors of photography (Withnail and I, The Gathering Storm).
Produced by Ken Tuohy (Nil By Mouth) and executive-produced by Rainer Mockert (Lantana, Last Orders), Puckoon was the closing film at the recent Bradford Film Festival and will screen as part of the Irish Film Board/Film Institute of Ireland’s ‘New Irish Cinema’ Festival in Dublin on 15th April.
