The awarded films have been chosen by a special seven-member jury convened in Berlin, and based on the EFA’s selection list. According to the EFA Board, this new addition to the awards procedure intends to draw more attention to the recipients in these categories.

The remaining nominees in the other categories of the European Film Awards will be announced on November 9 at the Seville European Film Festival, and the awards ceremony will take place in Berlin on December 7.
