Launched last May during the Cannes Film Festival by the Italian and French Ministers for Culture (news), the support fund for the development of co-productions between the two countries supervised by the CNC and MIBACT made public its first selection, which includes 13 titles (six of French initiative and seven of Italian initiative). Amongst them, the animation project La fameuse invasion de la Sicile par les ours by Lorenzo Mattotti (Prima Linea Productions, Indigo Films) particularly stands out, as well as Il lungo cammino del ritorno by Daniele Vicari (Mir Cinematografica, Cinétévé), La révélation by Thierry Binisti (Les Films d’Ici, Iterfilms) and Fiore [+see also:

The four other selected projects of French initiative are Disco Boy by Giacomo Abbruzzese (Stromboli, PinUp Film Making), Libera Me by Bruno and Fabrizio Urso (To be Continued, Nois Produzioni) and two first feature projects: Affreux et méchants by Cosimo Gomes (Les Films du Lendemain, Acaba Produzioni) and Tristan by duo Adriano Valerio - Loran Bonnardot (Petit Film, Tempesta Films).

Five projects of Italian initiative complete the list: Oktober by Gianluca and Massimilano De Serio (La Sarraz Pictures, MACT Productions), Elisabeth by Guido Chiesa (Colorado Films, Meroé Films), La terra dei vivi by Carlo Hintermann (Run to me films, Opera Films), Underfuture by Nicolaj Pennestri (Stilelibero Produzioni, Cinemorgana) and L’essenza della vita by Antonio Falduto (Zebra Pictures, Ciné-Sud Promotion).

The next session of the commission (which includes Carole Solive, Marie-Pierre Hauville, Jean Labadie, Chiara Fortuna, Iole Maria Giannattasio and Sylvia Finazzi) will take place in May 2014.
