Four new films have been chosen to receive financial backing from IndieLisboa’s Film Support Fund. The fund celebrates in 2014 its third edition and assumes itself as an additional support scheme to the ones currently existing in Portugal.

The four winners are animation short O Campo à Beira Mar by André Ruivo (1,000 euros), live action shorts O Mar Enrola na Areia by Catarina Mourão (1,000 euros) and Precária (3,500 euros) by Ico Costa, and a feature documentary still untitled by Carlos Conceição (2,500 euros).

Another documentary, Nos Interstícios da Realidade – O Cinema de António Macedo by João Monteiro, will not receive a financial support but was selected for a crowdfunding campaign to happen throughout the month of February in the Zarpante platform. The campaign aims to gather 5,000 euros to wrap up the film.

Created by the IndieLisboa Association – the one behind the organization of the Lisbon-based notorious festival – this fund is a result of the profits from the sales of the DVD “10 Portuguese Shorts IndieLisboa/FNAC”. Lusofona Universtity, Bikini and Digital Mix Music are also partners of the initiative.

Winners from the two previous editions include Gabriel AbrantesPalácios da Pena, which was shown at the Venice Film Festival, Bibliografia by Miguel Manso and João Manso, shown in Turin, Má Raça by Marco Leão e André Santos, awarded in IndieLisboa and Barcelona’s festival Alternativa, Terra by Pedro Lino, seen in the BFI London Film Festival, and Revoluçao Industrial by Tiago Hespanha and Frederico Lobo, still in post-production.
