While nominated for five Robert Awards by the Danish Film Academy, leading the prize run before the Sunday, January 26 gala, Danish commercial broadcaster TV2’s television series Dicte has started filming 10 new episodes on locations in Aarhus and at Filmby Aarhus studios.

Based on Danish author Elsebeth Egholm’s thriller characters, again scripted by Ida Maria Rydén and Dorte W Høgh, Dicte follows the investigative Aarhus journalist specialising in crime mysteries, which she solves with police investigator Wagner (Lars Brygmann). Regulars Lærke Winther, Lars Ranthe, Dar Salim and Peter Schrøder are joined by Andrea Vagn Jensen as head of the police.

“Danish television series are in international demand, and the new season has been sold to several countries before we began shooting,” said producer Jonas Allen, of Miso Film, who stages the production for TV2 with Sweden’s TV4, Norway’s TV2, and support from Filmby Aarhus. Danish directors Kaspar Barfoed and Jesper W Nielsen share the job – four episodes for Barfoed, six for Nielsen.

Rated 4.5 (out of 5) by viewers – with an average of 1.2 million per episode – to become one of TV2’s three best series ever, Dicte is nominated for the Roberts in the categories of Best Actress (Hjejle), Best Actor (Brygmann), Best Supporting Actress (Lene Maria Christensen) and Best Supporting Actor (Salim, Ranthe). Production of Season 2 will be completed in July and aired from the autumn.
