Arte International Prize for The Wounded Angel
by Fabien Lemercier
- The project for a second feature film by Emir Baigazin, revealed with Harmony Lessons, is presented in the Berlinale's co-production market
Awarded by the Management of International Relations of Arte France and Arte France Cinéma to a project presented in the co-production market at the Berlinale, the Arte International Prize has been attributed to The Wounded Angel [+see also:
film profile] by Emir Baigazin.
A co-production associating Kazakhstan (Beibit Muslimov and Anna Vilgelmi for Kazakhfilm JSC) and France (Thierry Lounas for Capricci Production), the film will commence shooting in the spring. It will be the second feature by the young Kazakh director, widely noticed for his first opus, Harmony Lessons [+see also:
film profile], winner, among other things, of a Silver Bear last year in Berlin.
The Wounded Angel wil be the second part of a trilogy on adolescence. The project is comprised of four chapters, each one interpreted by a different 13 year-old teenager. Four stories in the guise of fables or moral tales.
