Portugal will be present at the Marché for the first time in the guise of Picture Portugal and the Instituto do Cinema e do Audiovisual IP (ICA). Additional new market exhibitors are the Hungarian Film Sales company, Prior Entertainment from Lithuania and the Beijing Film Academy (China Real Image Co). Cannes is also an essential marketplace for a number of first-timers from the US, such as Titan Global Entertainment, 13 Films, Fairway Film Alliance, Engine 15 Media Group, Electric Entertainment, Digital Film Cloud Network and Dolphin Films International.

According to Myriam Arab, the Marché’s director of operations, marketing and sales, the new Marina Showroom, which is located at the heart of the Marché, has also attracted new players. “We are very happy that the Marina Showroom is proving to be successful,” underlines Arab. “We will welcome around 20 companies for the second edition, including a mixture of US and European sales firms.”
