by French director Tony Gatlif, which will be unveiled at a special screening on 20 May. Produced by Princes Films and co-produced by Rhône-Alpes Cinéma, among others, the new feature by the director (whose awards include Best Director at Cannes in 2004) entrusts the lead role to Céline Sallette, who plays a teacher in a city in Southern France who tries to stop two families from fighting with each other after a young girl has run away with her boyfriend in order to avoid an arranged marriage. Les Films du Losange will distribute Geronimo in French cinemas on 15 October.

by Wang Chao, which will have its world premiere on 21 May in Un Certain Regard; the filmmaker previously won the main Un Certain Regard prize in 2006 with Luxury Car. For the record, he was selected at the Directors’ Fortnight in 2001 with The Orphan of Anyang. Co-produced with China by France’s Olivier Aknin for Reboot Films, Fantasia recounts the upheaval that a family has to endure after being confronted with the father’s illness and his subsequent expensive hospitalisation.

Also featuring in Les Films du Losange’s Cannes line-up are three feature films in post-production: 1001 grams by Bent Hamer (read the news – a co-production between Norway, France and Germany, starring Ane Dahl Torp and Laurent Stocker), Victoria by Jean-Paul Civeyrac (adapted from Doris Lessing – read the article) and The Days Come by Romain Goupil (read the article).

Lastly, the firm will be continuing the pre-sales for two titles currently in production that it kicked off at the Berlinale (see news): the Swiss-French co-production Amnesia by Barbet Schroeder (starring Marthe Keller and Max Riemelt) and Childhood [+see also:
