Berlin-based world sales and production outfit Picture Tree International is shortly to make its debut on the Riviera. The line-up that will be presented at the Marché du Film includes a handful of brand-new German comedies.

, by Sigrid Hoerner. A 60-year-old molecular biologist who is forced to retire from her job receives an unusual farewell gift. The company is handing out her own oocytes that have been frozen for many years, so she decides to become a mother after all. However, the situation gets out of control when she runs into the father of her sperm donor.

Bad timing is also an issue in the road movie A Hitman’s Solitude Before the Shot, by Florian Mischa Böder. For eight years, a contract killer has been waiting for a call from a secret EU programme. When he is just about to give up this lonely and disciplined life, and goes on a date with a girl, his services are suddenly required.
